MetricBooks is a platform that focuses on simplifying accounting and compliance for businesses. It leverages AI to automate financial tasks like transaction categorization, tax filings (including GST and TDS), and bookkeeping. The platform offers real-time financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws. It provides smart insights for informed decision-making and a centralized financial command center accessible anytime, anywhere.
MetricBooks wanted to create an MVP for their idea to transform the fintech space with AI. They wanted to transform a Notion document with their idea into a fully-working prototype in 14 days.
We had a tight deadline to get a great design ready for Metricbooks. We made a great decision to go with Bricx because they went above & beyond to deliver on their promise.
After we took upon the challenge to wrap up the MVP in 14 days, we had to create a definitive roadmap to follow our proven process to create the MVP.
This meant working fast without sacrificing on quality a bit.
Our goal: make the experience as delightful as possible.
The founders of MetricBooks had already done a lot of research on their customers & competitors. They knew exactly what they were looking for which helped us align with them.
The importance of a design system lies in its ability to bring consistency, efficiency, and scalability to the product development process. We used the open-source ANT design system to get things rolling fast.
Design Language
We presented three iterations of the same module to MetricBooks on day 3 with different layout & style. Once we decided upon the iteration we wanted to go forward with, we went ahead to design the entire MVP for them.
Users had to take multiple approval actions as they review all transactions. We couldn’t keep giving approval popups because it would add friction to the process.
We brainstormed to create a disappearing notification after every approval they make to change it if they want to.
MetricBooks wanted to create an interactive experience of their SaaS for potential investors & new users.
We created a personalized demo experience with smooth animations for a delightful user experience.
The MetricBooks dashboard wanted to give users a quick glance of all the important metrics/transactions in their business.
We designed a ‘smart insights’ feature to showcase AI-driven analysis of their metrics sorted by priority.
The reconciler reviewer module had users input data as well as review ai results on the same screen. This was creating distractions for the user.
We divided the screen in to segments - highlighting user inputs & showing AI results. We also added a ‘approve all’ button to decrease decision fatigue & keep focus on inputing new transactions.
Our goal is to make sure our designs are developed perfectly. We created in-depth documentation for developers to follow making sure they’re developed with no mistakes.
We went in depth to cover every edge case possible with our UX audit. Then, we designed every single edge case making the experience delightful for the users.
MetricBooks MVP was a success. We designed the entire MVP & developer hand off documents in 2 weeks of starting our engagement. They’re currently developing the designs to present them to new users & potential investors!
